Demian Garcia-Monroy’s passion for advocacy was sparked 12 years ago when his daughter, Samantha, was denied essential educational support. Determined to fight for her rights, Demian discovered a deeper mission—to empower other families navigating the complexities of special education. With a background in civil rights work through LULAC and extensive training from COPAA, Demian has helped countless parents become confident advocates for their children. His work goes beyond individual cases, driving systemic change to ensure all children receive the education they deserve.

Kath Valerio is a passionate advocate and researcher dedicated to empowering families and improving the lives of children with special needs. As the co-founder of SNACS, she combines her deep knowledge of special education with her ongoing research in Clinical Psychology, where she explores culturally responsive assessments and mental health support for caregivers. Kath’s work doesn’t stop at advocacy — she’s committed to ensuring that parents feel confident, informed, and connected with the professionals supporting their children.

With a heart for making a difference and a mind always seeking answers, Kath continues to pave the way for stronger, more inclusive communities.
